Arky Vaughan
(b. March 9, 1912 - d. August 30, 1952)
One of the game's best hitting shortstops, only twice in 14 seasons did Vaughan fail to hit .300. In 1935, his .385 average for Pittsburgh led the NL. Arky notched a career .406 on-base percentage, .318 batting average, 1,173 runs, and 926 RBI. He scored more than 100 runs in five seasons, and he led the NL in putouts and assists three times.

Comments: A solid NM 7 card with three NM-MT corners and one NrMint. 70-30 centering all-around and clean reverse. This has always been one of my favorite images from the 1941 Play Ball set and I picked this card up in October, 2000.
