| Comments: My first portrait
card of Molitor was a 1985 Donruss PSA 9 purchased in November,
2003 on eBay. In February, 2005 I upgraded to a PSA 10. I also had
a '85 Donruss Fisk PSA 10 so when I decided to diversify the collection
a few years later I felt one of them could be swapped out with a
different issue. I searched through dozens of different Molitor
cards on eBay and settled on a 1994 Score card as a nice option.
I found a raw example at a show and it was submitted to PSA, grading
MINT in August, 2008. I've got a saved search on eBay and it's turned
up nothing better. In February, 2010 I purchased a Series 2 box
on eBay for $8 + $8 S&H. It rewarded me with two cards - a standard
#427 and one Gold Rush parallel #427 card. With hopes of a GEM-MT
example, I submitted both to PSA and both received NM-MT ratings.
CRAP! In September, 2011 I purchased another box for $10.25 including
S&H via eBay. I ripped open all the packs and didn't get a single
Molitor - no mint copies, no parallels Gold Rush card. So the quest
for a PSA 10 '94 Score example continues….UPDATE...On April, 27,
2012 I received two more boxes in the mail purchased off eBay and
started ripping the packs open. Out of two boxes I only got one
MINT Molitor. I was hoping for a few. Hopefully this is the one,
it looks pretty nice. |
