Comments: I purchased a PSA 9 '84 Donruss on eBay in February, 2003 and upgraded to a PSA 10 with another eBay win in March, 2005 from seller Doug Lowe (allprosports). Here's the card:

UPDATE: I met Gary Carter at an All-Star FanFest many years ago. All autographs were supposed to be free with a paid ticket. Several dozen people had stood in line for almost two hours before he arrived. As the line started moving word got out he was asking everyone for a $50 donation to his charity Carter's Kids to sign their items. Otherwise, he would only sign a blank piece of paper. He was kinda a dick about it and got into it with some fans. When I walked up I gave him his $50 and asked him to sign a ball for me. He did with a stupid smirk on his face. He wasn't nice. Afterwards, I asked for a show manager and explained the situation. They gave me a full refund. The guy in front of me took this video of Carter:

So, when I found this 1987 Classic card in March, 2021 on eBay with the same smirk he showed many of the fans I had to buy it. Within a year Carter ended up getting brain cancer and he was gone. Anyway, as this is a type collection I prefer to have the '84 Donruss issue represented with a Mattingly RC.
