Jack Chesbro
(b. June 5, 1874 - d. November 6, 1931)
Jack Chesbro's 41 victories in 454 2/3 innings in 1904 stand as one of the game's more remarkable single-season achievements. A master of the spitball, his wild pitch in the next to the last game of the 1904 season against Boston, however, cost New York the AL pennant. The winner of 199 games, "Happy Jack" led his league in winning percentage in three different seasons.

Comments: It's always been T206 for Chesbro, first purchasing a PSA 1 Piedmont back in May, 2002. I then upgraded to a PSA 4 example with an eBay win in April, 2003. In May, 2005 I upgraded to a PSA 5 via Net54 from seller Brian Hodes. And, just one month later I swapped it out for a different back, this Old Mill, with another eBay win.

There are 389 major leaguer cards and 134 minor leaguer cards in the set, but with front/back varieties the number of potentially different cards runs into the thousands.
