Lefty Grove
(b. March 6, 1900 - d. May 22, 1975)
Robert Moses Grove was the AL MVP in 1931 with a 31-4 mark for Connie Mack's Philadelphia A's. In an era dominated by hitting, the left-handed Grove was almost unhittable, winning 20 games or more seven straight seasons with Connie Mack's Philadelphia A's. On his way to 300 wins, "Mose" led the AL in strikeouts seven times, in ERA nine times, in complete games three times, and in winning percentage five times.

Description: Although no manufacturer is indicated on the pins themselves, this 25-player set was apparently issued by Cracker Jack in the early 1930s. Each pin measures 13/16" in diameter and features a line drawing of a player portrait. The unnumbered pins are printed in blue and gray with backgrounds found in either yellow or gray.
