Al Barlick

(b. April 2, 1915 - d. December 27, 1995)
|
One of the most respected arbiters in baseball, Barlick began his
career in the NL in 1940 when old-timer Bill Klem was injured. He
worked in Jackie Robinson's first game. Barlick also umpired in
seven All-Star contests and in seven World Series. |

Comments: Umpires don't
have too many cards available if you're a HOF collector. Luckily
Bowman put out this set. I first acquired a PSA 7 after winning
an eBay auction in Sept, 2003. I upgraded to this PSA 8 in Sept,
2005 when I won a Mark Irodenko / Outfield Sports eBay auction. |
