Comments: In May, 2014 I found a strong NM raw example of a 1971 O-Pee-Chee Curt Flood card on eBay and won the card for $29.61 + shipping. It was a little off center left to right but the corners were worthy of a NM+ grade. Sure enough PSA agreed and slabbed the item a "7" upon submission. I didn't have a '71 OPC card in the collection and figure Flood has as good of a shot to make it into the Hall someday as any. The veterans are bound to vote him in at some point.

UPDATE: I was checking my eBay searches in August, 2016 and a beautiful NM-MT 8 graded by PSA showed up on the site. The seller's asking price - $860!!! A couple weeks later the card was discounted 25%, down to $645. This was still pretty crazy so I decided to make an offer, what I considered a fair price for the card. To my surprise, the seller agreed. We had a deal. I picked up the card after coming back early on a gorgeous Saturday morning. It was fantastic and screamed MINT. The centering was a little off but the corners were razor. The edges had the typical OPC cuts.....card looked like it came straight out of a pack and into the holder. Really pleased with this one. The PSA Population report shows 8 graded PSA 8s, 0 graded PSA 9s, and 1 graded PSA 10. Glad to own one of the best-ten examples of this beauty!

Card Details Below:
Year(s): 1971
ACC Set Designation:
Set Name: O-Pee-Chee
Country: Canada
Description: For 1971, O-Pee-Chee increased the number of cards in its set to 752, the same as the 1971 Topps set, which shares the same black-bordered design. The backs of the OPCare printed in yellow, rather than green, in a slightly different format and (except card numbers 525-752) are printed in both French and English. The words, "Printed in Canada" appear on the back. Fourteen of the OPC cards have different photos from their corresponding Topps' cards or list the player with a different team. The '71 OPC checklist parallels the Topps version. Because of teh relative scarcity, superstars in the OPC set command a premium, as do cards of the "local" Expos players.
