Comments: Parallel – A card that is a serial numbered version of another non-serial numbered card. For instance, a base card would be unnumbered, but a parallel of that base card would have a serial number. Parallels typically have the same design and photo, but offer different color schemes.
There's one other set of parallel cards in my HOF collection (Justin Verlander) - several different color variations, all serially numbered. For Paul Goldschmidt, I found this issue when it came out in 2018. I don't know if he'll make the Hall of Fame, but he's a heckuva great player. I ended up buying several raw cards on eBay - several of each variation (minus the red parallel). In late 2019, I submitted them to PSA for grading (all except the jumbo cards). The grades came back in my favor. Here's what I have so far...note, I'm still missing the easy base card of all things, and a red parallel. A base card came up on eBay graded PSA 10 in early 2020 and I totally forgot to bid. Someone else snagged it! I have to wait for another or buy a raw card and have it graded myself. |
