Comments: I purchased a PSA 9 back on January 2, 2003 via eBay for $15.50 including shipping.  Back in 2003, a PSA 10 could be purchased for about $75.  The card went up in price a little and could still be purchased for about $125 through most of 2018.  After Smith's 2019 election to the Hall of Fame, the card shot up to $650.  I wish I had bought a PSA 10 instead.  The PSA 9 is now worth about $75.  Shoulda-coulda...Anyway, here's the card:

UPDATE: Smith RC PSA 10's peaked out at $2500 during COVID (late 2020, early 2021). I couldn't believe it. The guy was a reliever. In April, 2021 my eBay searches turned up a nice PSA 10 example and the high bid was holding steady. I entered what I considered a good price for the card and my number held up. I won! Eighteen years after puchasing my PSA 9, I finally upgraded to a GEM copy centered perfectly 50/50.
