Comments: In October,
2002 I won an eBay auction for a perfect GEM MT PSA 10 1984 Donruss
card. In August, 2007 I decided to replace the card, since I already
had a Gary Carter from the same set. I chose to go with a 1969 Photostamps
card and purchased a raw example on eBay. It showed up and wasn't
worth grading - lower grade. So, in November 2007 I found a PSA
9 example on ebay and won the auction. A couple weeks later this
PSA 10 showed up on eBay and I won it too. |

Set Name: |
Major League Baseball Photostamps |
Country: |
United States |
Description: |
set of 216 player stamps, sponsored by the Major League
Baseball Players Association (not authorized by MLB, thus the lack
of team uniform insignia) was issued in professional baseball's
centennial year of 1969 and was sold in 18 different uncut sheets,
with 12 stamps on each sheet. Each individual stamp measured 2"
X 3-1/4". There were nine sheets picturing National League players
and nine picturing American Leaguers. The full-color stamps displayed
facsimile autographs on the fronts. The backs carried instructions
to moisten the stamps and place them in a special album that was
also available. Many sheets of these stamps were uncovered by a
dealer in the early 1980s and they were available at inexpensive
prices. |
